The Department coordinates the development of policies, strategies, guidelines, protocols and standards on disease control. Other functions of the Department include:
- Provision of technical support to regions/ districts on disease control
- Developing systems for monitoring and evaluation disease control programmes in the Service
- Development of training programs for disease control staff
- Contribute to the training of disease control staff
- Provision of technical support for preparation and submission of grant proposals on disease control and surveillance to health partners and related agencies
- Contribute to the implementation quality assurance disease control and surveillance programs
- Provision of technical support to regions and districts to implement disease control activities.
