Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs)

Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs) are a group of preventable and treatable diseases that affect the poorest, most vulnerable people who live in hard-to-reach parts of Africa including Ghana. These diseases disfigure and disable, keep children out of school and parents out of work-limiting their potential and leaving communities stuck in poverty.

The mandate of NTD programme is to progressively reduce morbidity, disability and mortality due to NTDs using integrated and cost-effective approaches with the view to eliminate NTDs in Ghana by the year 2030.
