Dr. Osei Kuffour Afreh is a Senior Public Health Physician Specialist, an Epidemiologist and a fellow of the Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons. He holds a BSc, MBChB and Master in Public Health degrees.
He has over 18 years working experience in the Ghana Health Service with expertise in Clinical Care Services, all areas of Public Health including Disease Control and Surveillance, Epidemiology and Health Research. He has been involved in several policy developments in areas of Safe Motherhood, New-born Care, Community – based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) Adolescent Health and Health Systems Strengthening.
He has held several administrative positions in the Ghana Health Service such as Medical Superintendent, District Director of Health Services, Deputy Director of Public Health and Regional Director of Health Services. He is also a former National Chairman of the District Directors Group as well as a former Regional chairman of the Medical Superintendents Group.
Currently he is the Regional Director of Health Services for the Oti Region in Ghana providing leadership in the planning and organization of all health activities, while ensuring policy translation, implementation, coordination, monitoring and evaluation. He also provides direction in the management of all areas of health services delivery and advice the Regional Coordinating Council on health matters in the region.
