Procurement Department

The Department is responsible for planning and coordinating procurement activities at GHS Headquarters. The functions of the Department include:

  • Managing the development and implementation of procurement plan of the service.
  • Managing the development and implementation of the Sourcing of goods, work and services to facilitate prompt service delivery
  • Coordinating the preparation of specifications, terms of reference, short-lists or advertisements, and pre-qualifications, tender or request for quotation documents.
  • Arranging the publication of advertisements and notices of contract award
  • Coordinating the process of opening of tenders and quotations and ensuring the preparation of formal records of tender or quotation opening in accordance with the applicable laws
  • Negotiation and contracting
  • Preparing notification of awards and contracts
  • Preparing contract documents and purchase order, in line with award decision
  • Development of Suppliers and vendors database
  • Ensuring compliance with Service, System, and Legal requirements
  • Capacity building in procurement management
  • Leveraging technology to help in procurement functions
  • Monitoring, Evaluation and Supervision of Procurement at all levels of the Service
