At the 6th Clinical Care Conference/Retreat, the Service's Institutional Care Division brought together Deputy Directors of Clinical Care(DDCC) from across the country as well as partners to develop realistic, actionable strategies to strengthen and improve facility-based clinical services under the Free Primary Health Care Policy.
Dr. Lawrence Ofori Boadu, the Division's Director, emphasized that facilities should focus on creating a system that responds to patients' needs, remains resilient in challenging times, and provides quality care around the clock. He stressed that every citizen, regardless of their background or circumstances, should have access to timely, compassionate, and top-quality care.
The Director-General of the Service, Dr. Samuel Kaba Akoriyea, noted that Clinical Care and Public Health Service need to work hand in hand to achieve Universal Health Coverage. He encouraged the Deputy Directors to take responsibility for the facilities in their respective areas.
Dr. Kaba Akoriyea also reaffirmed the importance of treating patients with dignity and respect, especially as the free primary health care policy approaches. Additionally, he highlighted the need to educate communities about health issues to help reduce preventable deaths and illnesses.
The retreat also included the recognition of Pharm Robert Adatsi, the immediate past DDCC for the Volta Region. He was awarded a citation in appreciation of his dedication and hard work to the Service.
Through ongoing efforts, innovation, and accountability, the Service aims to build trusted health services that serve every community.
