Dr Alberta Adjebeng Biritwum-Nyarko is a Medical Doctor and a Public Health Specialist (Physician Epidemiologist) with interest in Health Systems Strengthening and Emergency Response.

She is passionate about the provision of good quality health care services to everyone everywhere. She believes in leadership and good governance and brings this to bear in her nearly two decades of dedicated service to the people of Ghana at all levels of the health care hierarchy she has worked at and across the clinical and public health spectrum. She has contributed to the development of several Protocols, Guidelines and Reports of the Service and beyond in areas such as TB/MDR-TB, HIV/AIDS, Adolescent Health & Development and the GDHS.

She worked as a clinician at Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) and Kumasi South Regional Hospital, a place where she did most of her clinical practice. She has also worked as HIV/TB Advisor to the USAID/FRHP. Prior to her appointment as Director PPMED, she was the Regional Director of Health Service for Eastern Region, a position she took after working as the Metropolitan Director of Health Service in Kumasi Metropolitan Area.

Alberta holds an MPH from the KNUST School of Medical Sciences and is a Member of the Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons.
